28 November 2007
by Jerrad Peters
HARRY Redknapp was taken into custody by City of London Police early this morning. At least 60 officers carried out a total of five, pre-dawn arrests in connection with Lord Stevens’ inquiry into corruption within football. Former Portsmouth owner and current Leicester City owner Milan Manderic was also incarcerated, as was Portsmouth Chief Executive Peter Storrie. Rangers midfielder Amdy Feye and player-agent Willie McKay were also arrested. And while each of the five individuals are currently employed at various locations throughout Britain, it is their past association with Portsmouth Football Club which currently has them under investigation.
More information, including a full synopsis of the Stevens’ inquiry, will follow.
